The incumbent to this position will be a member of the North American HR leadership team and the Canadian business leadership team. This role is responsible for providing HR leadership for all employees across Canada.
The position leads a team of HR and Payroll professionals in the execution of HR programs and processes. The incumbent will engage with leaders, develop and execute strategic HR initiatives in support of country-level business and global HR strategies.
The position reports functionally to the NA Human Resources Leader and takes business direction from the Country President.
The Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ is currently preparing for a spin-off in 2019, following the global DuPont and Dow merger of equals in 2017. The incumbent to this role will play an active role in leading initiatives to prepare for and execute the spin-off process and related integration efforts.
Plan, develop and lead HR initiatives in support of strategic business goals and aligned with global HR objectives.
Lead and develop a team of HR Consultants and Analysts within the country to effectively deliver full range of HR programs and processes including: Talent Acquisition and Development, Organizational Design and Vibrancy, Total Rewards, Performance Management and Employee Relations.
Provide leadership to country compliance programs in the employment arena, ensuring adherence to federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
Implement positive engagement and retention strategies.
Act as key change agent, guiding and supporting leadership team, line managers and employees through merger integration and change initiatives. Corteva Agriscience™ values and culture.
Coordinate local total rewards programs including Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension plans, benefit plan administration and compensation administration, aligned to global strategies and initiatives.
Working with global Centers of Expertise, and using the global Workday HRIS platform and related technologies, ensure client groups are fully utilizing self-service based HR programs and processes.
Act as coach to support leaders, managers and employees with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to appropriately address people issues and opportunities.
Champion the deployment of standard HR processes across the country while balancing business/site specific needs to ensure consistency.
Understand and monitor effectiveness of HR programs through use of metrics and HR analytics in a way that drives overall performance.
Identify HR opportunities/trends, evaluate their impact and define solutions to support the business, promote the simplicity and/or make improvements.
Network with other HR professionals in the company and in the industry to share what has been learned and seek out opportunities to leverage areas of potential synergy.
Post-secondary degree in a Human Resources discipline CHRP designation is an asset.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources with increasing responsibilities from tactical business partnering to strategic program leadership.
Experience working in the Agriculture or related field is highly preferred.
Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs to effective and enabling HR strategies and programs.
Demonstrated experience delivering a full range of HR programs and initiatives, including talent selection, talent development, organizational design, diversity and inclusion and engagement.
Experience managing pension and benefit programs.
Experience leading and developing a team of HR professionals.
Knowledgeable of employment-related legislation, policies and practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change management strategies.
Ability to influence business leaders and key stakeholders.
Demonstrated strong teamwork, collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to engender integrity, credibility, confidence and trust.
This role requires occasional travel across Canada and to the US - approximately 15-20% of time.
