DuPont is seeking an outgoing and versatile Electrical & Controls Technician to join our Industrial Biosciences team in Beloit, WI!

As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing repair work, designing upgrades, and troubleshooting failures. You will utilize your electrical and instrumentation skills to perform high-level electrical and mechanical installation as well as maintenance of field and plant equipment and facilities. You will be challenged with the responsibility of all instrumentation and plant electrical systems. The critical work you perform directly affects the impact of safety, function, longevity and overall operation of instrumentation, electrical and mechanical equipment at the plant.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • PM inspection,troubleshooting, and or repair of plant instrumentation, electrical systems,fire systems, site security and communications systems.

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of Analog instrumentation.

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of HART instrumentation.

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of Digital instrumentation

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of Profibus protocol communications.

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of Device Net protocol communications.

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of ASi protocol communications.

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of motor FVNR, FVR, Soft starts.

  • Maintainsrelationships with local vendors and contractors as identified.

  • Actsas electrical and instrumentation subject matter expert and liaison withEngineering and Environment Health and Safety departments

  • Workingknowledge and understanding of power distribution equipment, and one-line electricaldrawings


The following are required:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Completed 4-year electricalapprenticeship and three years of industrial experience OR two yeartechnical/trade degree in an electrical field of study and at least five yearsof Industrial Electrician experience

  • Able to understand and interpret theNational Electric Code

  • Able to troubleshoot and maintain upto 4160V systems

  • Knowledge of distributed controlsystems (DCS), graphical user interfaces, how they interface to pressure,temperature, and flow meters,motor FVNR, FVR, Soft starts, ASD’s etc.

  • Able to read one-line, process andinstrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and loop sheets.

  • Problem solving capabilities

  • Ability to make independentdecisions

  • Project planning & coordinationskills

  • Ability to adjust quickly tochanging conditions and anticipate needs

  • Good written, verbal, andinterpersonal communication skills

  • Willing and able to climb and/orwork in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods

  • Willing and able to work bothoutdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions

  • Willing and able to lift up to 60lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitivelifting

  • Willingness and ability to work occasionalovertime hours including possibility of night, weekend, and holiday work.

  • Good computer skills includingMicrosoft Office

  • SAP knowledge
