Our Operations team is essential to delivering the innovative and life-saving products we make for our customers. The E&I business is seeking an Area Leader at our Circleville, Ohio site responsible and accountable for all aspects of performance related to the Kapton® Chemical and Solvent Recovery Area. Kapton® is a dielectric film used a wide variety of industrial, military and consumer electronic applications. The Kapton® manufacturing facility in Circleville, Ohio is a multi-area unit. Kapton® prepolymer is made in the Chemical area and fed to the Casting area for manufacture into Kapton® film. The Solvent Recovery area operates a train of distillation columns to separate and recover process solvents and additives for reuse in the process. This Area Leader role has leadership responsibilities for an organization of about 26 operators and support personnel.
Area Leader is a leadership role focused on building fully engaged and competent teams that deliver results in line with the area performance goals in a safe and efficient way.
Your key responsibilities:

Communicates performance goals, metrics and outcomes within area to meet production goals and the customers’ needs safely and efficiently
Promotes commitment and ownership to Operational Excellence by engaging team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, eliminate waste and remove barriers; Uses lean and digital tools effectively
Hires, retains and develops talent to meet current and future capabilities; Promotes a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment
Coaches, develops, and provides performance feedback to team members to build capabilities, align on expectations and overall team effectiveness; Uses reward and recognition to drive the right behaviors and results
Partners with leaders to stay informed of the business strategy and needs; Pivots as needed to deliver business value
Organizes area resources to drive performance; Completes administrative requirements timely and efficiently
Knows the site/unit/area products, our customers and their requirements
Uses business knowledge and cost modeling tools to build cases and evaluate needs/opportunities
Primary sponsor of area Operational Discipline
Interprets and applies basic engineering principles
Solves simple and complex technical problems while balancing speed/risk/reward
Creates an environment of accountability for meeting agreed-upon expectations
Uses management systems to monitor the organization’s performance against goals
Energizes the organization by clarifying the broader purpose and importance of the work
Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science preferred
5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
Previous experience in line management leadership preferred
Experience in coaching and developing others
Strength in building effective teams and collaboration
Ability to function at both tactical and strategic levels
Experience in cost/budget management preferred
Six Sigma/Lean Practitioner, preferred
