The DuPont site in Dayton, OH has an exciting job opportunity for candidates looking for a career nonexempt operator position. The site produces polymers used in the semiconductor manufacturing process. These polymers are high purity, low metal materials. This position performs various operations necessary to produce polymers, adhering to all applicable company rules and regulations, legal regulations, and ISO environmental and quality requirements while also meeting production schedules. Everyday performance of duties in this position must be done in an ethical manner with safety as the primary responsibility. This position works a rotating 12-hour shift including holidays, weekends, and some overtime.

Operator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using computer systems or semi-automatic equipment.

  • Load raw materials, transfer chemicals from one area to another, package finished product, and operate/troubleshoot process equipment.

  • Ensure quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.

  • Maintains safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary.

  • Move control settings to make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of chemical reactions, quality, or yields.

  • Monitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, or other indicators and listen for warning signals, to verify conformity of process conditions.

  • Partners with team members and leaders during shifts and at shift hand-over; Raises potential issues and barriers appropriately; Leaves area prepared for next shift

  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities; Collaborates to solve problems

Qualifications :

In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 1+ year of manufacturing experience is required; experience with chemical manufacturing is preferred

  • Willing and able to work a rotating shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on short notice call in as needed by the business.

  • Willing and able to: lift 10lbs frequently, 25lbs regularly, 55lbs occasionally; climb stairs, ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, utilize visual acuity for close work, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms; and work in various weather conditions.

  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex, protective eyewear, face shield, and respirator as needed

The following skill sets are preferred by the site:

  • Associate degree in a related field, or a manufacturing certification.

  • Experience working in 5S teams, lean manufacturing teams, or other quality/process improvement programs.

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, chemical reactions, or manufacturing processes.
