The DuPont Electronic and Imaging facility, EKC Technology, has an opportunity for a Safety, Health and Environmental (EHS) Professional at its location in Hayward, California. This role will also be leveraged and support the DuPont Silicon Valley Technology Center in Sunnyvale, California. The EHS Professional will provide Safety, Health and Environmental expertise by designing, implementing, and sustaining EHS programs that add value to the business and that comply with Federal, State, Corporate, and Local Standards.

The person filling this role will be challenged with a variety of responsibilities in Safety, Health, and Environment. The focus of this role will be Occupational Health and Safety. This role will work closely with the local EHS Leader and members at all levels of the organization to ensure guidelines are understood and reinforced through training, coaching and leading others.

Responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Implement health and safety management systems(work processes, standards, procedures)

  • Identify opportunities to streamline health andsafety work processes

  • Lead health & safety audits and perform data analysisof the results

  • Conduct incident investigations androot cause failure analysis (RCFA)

  • Collect, input and calculate health and safetymetrics and reporting information

  • Create “one-pagers” and communicate keylearnings from environmental, health and safety events

  • Conduct industrial hygiene monitoringand evaluations

  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations

  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) reviews

  • Lead one or more PSM elements or safety competencies

  • Hazard Communication management

  • Develop site Environmental, Health& Safety procedures

  • Develop, facilitate, and promote employee safety improvement(Kaizen events, safety meetings, safety perception surveys, newsletters, and conversations).

  • Obtain certification as an Environmental Management SystemAuditor

  • Obtain DuPont certification as an Injury IllnessRecordkeeper

Training on all elements of the DuPont Safety, Health and Environmental Program Standards will be required during the first year of employment with DuPont and periodically thereafter. Travel for training (typically 3-4 days only) may be necessary for some programs.


Required Qualifications - Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related safety or technical field

  • Minimum 5 years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment

  • EHS functional/technical expertise with strong knowledge of safe workpractices, auditing, record keeping, investigation/RCFA, etc.

  • Experience in industrial hygiene principles and monitoring techniques

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM)

  • Strong data management and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to train and coach others

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently andcollaboratively

  • Comfortable interfacing with externalgovernmental organizations on Environmental, Health & Safety issues

PreferredQualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Specific knowledge of California laws and regulations (Cal OSHA, Cal EPA)

  • Experience implementing site wide programs
