DuPont Transportation & Advanced Polymers (T&AP) delivers a broad range of technology-based products and solutions to the transportation, electronics, industrial and consumer markets. T&AP partners with customers to drive innovation by utilising its expertise and knowledge in polymer and materials science, enabling material systems solutions for demanding applications and environments. Within T&AP, the Kalrez® and Vespel® business unit delivers high performance parts and shapes used in applications that include undersea oil and gas production, aerospace, transportation, semiconductor integrated circuits manufacturing and life sciences.

The Kalrez® and Vespel® business is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager for Western Europe. This position offers an exciting role with a lot of potential in a highly dynamic and growing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of direct and indirect accounts.

  • Build strong customer relationships with key decision makers and influencers.

  • Understand customer needs to generate business opportunities.

  • Drive expansion of the assigned territory looking for new customers and new applications.

  • Steer development projects at customers to grow the pipeline with new opportunities.

  • Develop yearly profitable growth plans at accounts.

  • Lead commercial negotiations.

  • Coordinate contractual activities where applicable.

  • Work collaboratively with Technical, Marketing and Product to implement segment and product line strategies.

  • Issues call reports on a timely basis.

  • Monitor overdues and address payment issues.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the market in the geographical area of responsibility.

  • Provide competitive information to Segment Leaders, Regional Sales Manager and team as well as feedback on market needs and growth opportunities.


  • Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering, materials or chemistry.

  • Previous sales and account management experience would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of the automotive industry a clear asset.

  • Dynamic and self-starter with a strong development mindset.

  • Ability to negotiate in challenging situations.

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

  • Fluency in German and English. French a plus.

  • Position is based in Germany but France can be an alternative.

  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time.
