We have various shifts available. All shifts include weekends and holidays, and occasional on-call may also be required.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigate security and safety incidents (thefts, propertydamage, unsafe practices, etc.), prepare reports, and review informationwith Security Manager.

  • Provide security services when potential external orinternal risks exist. Inform and coordinate with police as necessary.

  • Provide surveillance, physical protection assignments asneeded.

  • Conduct building tours and check designated property toprevent vandalism, spot fires or other hazards, and control the access ofunauthorized individuals.

  • Conduct facility and premise monitoring. Includes thefollowing: assure doors/windows/vaults are locked and secure; quarterlytest inspection and documentation; check to see that equipment isoperating, monitor various building parameters, assure company assets aresecure; monitor weather situations – ready to activate employeenotification procedures; monthly building notification system inspection, reportmaintenance issues.

  • Provide and promote safety at all times. Attend,participate, and complete all required safety programs; e.g. SecurityDept. training, quarterly CS Safety programs, frequent driver, andlearning & development.

  • Provide traffic control and other services for specialevents/functions as assigned. Prepare written time log andaccident/incident reports. Respond to all campus emergency calls.

  • Report security system maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications

The following arerequired:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Physical ability to: work in different environmentsfrom extreme cold to extreme hot; walk long distances and be mobile for aneight-hour period; move easily at a quick pace; move up and down stairsquickly; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; see well in dimly and brightlylit areas.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in firstaid techniques including cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

  • Ability to successfully complete Basic Security OfficerTraining Series (video training).

  • Possession of valid Iowa driver’s license.

The following are preferred:

  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, EMS, andcorrections experience.

  • Certifications and completed college courses or degreesrelated to law enforcement and security.
