This position is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and evaluation of seed samples for quality testing while demonstrating thorough knowledge of seed sampling practices.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform quality testing procedures in accordance withISTA, AOSA, and AASCO sampling guidelines, and assess testing requirementsaccording to established guidelines.

  • Verify and record quality test results with consistentattention to detail.

  • Perform all duties with a high level of accuracy inorder to maintain the integrity of quality results.

  • Assist in monitoring the proper functioning and maintenanceof laboratory equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe working environmentin compliance with Safety and Health guidelines and housekeepingpractices.

  • Train on cross-functional tasks in other functions ofthe laboratory on processes that may need additional support during highvolume or critical periods.

  • Monitor product for quality assurance and ensureactivities meet the requirements of the Quality Plan.

  • Actively seek to reduce redundant and unnecessarytesting.

  • Recommend and implement measures to improveproductivity, performance, methods, troubleshoot issues, and identifyquality defects.

  • Develop and maintain good communication and rapportwith site personnel and employees from other Pioneer departments.


Thefollowing are required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3 or more years of work and/orschool experience in an agriculture or biological or related field

  • Detail oriented with a historyof transactional excellence and accuracy

  • Interest in or knowledge ofadvanced seed testing activities and equipment

  • Strong Microsoft Office skilllevel

  • Willingness and ability to workwith repetitive tasks and motions while maintaining high attention todetail

  • Willingness and ability to workovertime and weekends when necessary

  • Willingness and ability to liftup to 50 lbs.

The following arepreferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor'sdegree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Biology, or related field

  • Previous experience in aproduction operation environment
