The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and evaluation of seed samples for quality testing while demonstrating thorough knowledge of seed sampling practices.

  • Monitor warehouse inventory andorder supplies

  • Operating forklift on a dailybasis

  • Perform preventative maintenanceon laboratory and testing equipment as needed

  • Perform quality testingprocedures in accordance with ISTA, AOSA, and AASCO sampling guidelines,and assess testing requirements according to establishedguidelines.

  • Verify and record quality testresults with consistent attention to detail.

  • Perform all duties with a highlevel of accuracy in order to maintain the integrity of quality results.

  • Assist in monitoring the properfunctioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, healthy andsafe working environment in compliance with Safety and Health guidelinesand housekeeping practices.

  • Train on cross-functional tasksin other functions of the laboratory on processes that may need additionalsupport during high volume or critical periods.

  • Monitor product for qualityassurance and ensure activities meet the requirements of the Quality Plan.

  • Actively seek to reduceredundant and unnecessary testing.

  • Recommend and implementmeasures to improve productivity, performance, methods, troubleshootissues, and identify quality defects.

  • Develop and maintain goodcommunication and rapport with site personnel and employees from otherPioneer departments.


The following arerequired:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3 or more years of work and/orschool experience in an agriculture or biological or related field

  • Detail oriented with a historyof transactional excellence and accuracy

  • Interest in or knowledge of advancedseed testing activities and equipment

  • Strong Microsoft Office skilllevel

  • Willingness and ability to workwith repetitive tasks and motions while maintaining high attention todetail

  • Willingness and ability to workovertime and weekends when necessary

  • Willingness and ability to liftup to 50 lbs.

The following arepreferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor'sdegree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Biology, or related field

  • Previous experience in aproduction operation environment

  • Experience operating a forklift

  • Experience with routine maintenanceand upkeeping of production area
