This individual will lead the sales effort for Pioneer Brand products and Encirca/Granular services. Performs direct selling activities and demand creation as well as coach, teach and manage a team of sales professionals (?). Directly manages the assignment of customers and prospects to a sales representative. Provides leadership and vision for the distribution channel (reps, dealers) in the district. Administers Sales policies and programs to meet sales and profit goals for the territory.
Manage salesrepresentative, Certified Service Agent (CSA), or dealer performance throughthe establishment, communication and clarification of expectations.Hold individuals accountable for meetingestablished performance standards.
Coach sales team to enhanceselling activity, differentiate products and services and build relationships.
Calls on customers withsales reps & CSA’s. Serves as a role model, teacher and coach to the saleschannel demonstrating sales skills and customer responsiveness for the completevalue proposition of seed & services.
Identify customer andprospect opportunities and establish a plan to capitalize on theseopportunities with sales reps, CSA’s & dealers.
Work with District SalesLead and Field Agronomist to establish Key Account accountability and businessgrowth tactics.
In conjunction with theirrespective Field Agronomist, continually teach reps, CSA’s and dealers new andbetter ways to meet the needs of the customer.
Continually evaluateperformance of individuals against standards and provide feedback that willenhance their sales performance.
Provide necessary skillsand knowledge training to meet sales performance objectives.
Recruit, select and retaina high quality professional sales force that can meet the product and servicesneeds of customers.
Collaborate with the SEM& District Sales Lead the positioning of digital services & hiring ofhigh quality CSA’s.
Manage assigned accountresponsibility (AAR) at the sales rep level, for products and services focusingcustomer by customer.
Sets sales targets andtactical plans with each sales rep for assigned customers and prospects.
Customer and prospectmanagement – working with District Sales Lead on territory management.
Directly manages AAR withguidance from the District Sales Lead.
Determines and manages thenumber of sales points in the district, with guidance from the District SalesLead.
Cross Coordination with Digital and Crop Protection
Cross offer coordination(seed/CP grower tie ins) with sales reps.
Maintain a thoroughagronomic and technical knowledge of Pioneer products and Encrica / Granulardigital ag services.
Understand customer needsand provide feedback to organization on product performance, programeffectiveness and competitive activity.Suggest improvements or alternative tactics to help achieve district andarea goals.
Continue to developprofessionally by remaining current with new technologies, managementinnovations and sales management developments.
Manage with respectivesupport teams to ensure process integrity and process efficiency (Connex,Demand Plans,TDE and CPAs)
Bachelor's degree inAgronomy, Business, Marketing required, will consider other degrees withrelated field sales experience.
Agronomy knowledge required?
3-5 years marketing or salesexperience
Agricultural background andexperience highly preferred
Seed and/or crop protectionexperience beneficial
Proven capabilities in negotiating,influencing, conflict resolution, and overcoming objections
Passionate about buildinglong term relationships with partners and customers and to develop solutions tosatisfy/retain.
Previous experiencemanaging budgets helpful
Proficient with MicrosoftOffice
