Reports to: Regional Medical Director

Primary Function:

The primary function of the Regional Physician Manager is responsible for providing leadership to a team of IHS Clinicians and support staff in the Benelux + Germany Region. Demonstrate good business and leadership skills to ensure they are providing the best in customer service. Responsible for country and site specific Integrated Health Services (IHS) Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The specific duties and responsibilities of a Regional Physician Leader include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage, oversee and support work done by IHS staff in Luxembourg/ Germany/ Belgium site as well as the EMEA Region as assigned by the CMO and or Regional Medical Director for EMEA. The region designated at this time is BENELUX + Germany, regional assignment may change as needed in support of the business. This would include IHS programs for Case Management, Occupational Injury Investigation, Medical Surveillance, Fitness for Duty Determinations (including Substance Abuse Testing), Travel Medicine, Wellness, and Emergency Medical Response, at minimum

  • Lead IHS in the area of responsibility (both DuPont and external providers) supported by the RMD. Leading of external providers of IHS means governance: support the site in selection of an external provider, function as an interface between site and external provider facilitate, inspire and encourage implementation of IHS, provide adequate feedback to local management and external provider, define and gather metrics which DuPont requires

  • Actively network with SHE, HR and other functions when necessary

  • Assure the effective functioning of all site services in compliance with country laws, regulations and appropriate IHS medical standards and guidelines, providing advice and guidance

  • Serve as liaison between Regional Leadership, IHS staff and Site Leadership

  • Assist with developing and maintaining IHS budget

  • Ensure adequate resources are available. Oversee and participate in hiring new IHS staff for EMEA

  • Coordinate training activities for new hires and IHS continuing education

  • Assist Regional Leader with analysis of IHS services for improvements, customer satisfaction and program efficiencies

  • Travel up to 30% to sites and participation in global and regional conference calls as required

  • Support the EMEA RMD to provide vacation or business travel related coverage

  • Provide periodic reports to local governmental authorities as required by law in support of occupational medicine practice

  • Own qualification/training and personal development

  • Serve as DuPont Construction and Safety Business Partner for IHS Global, identifying the business strategy and direction (e.g. by connecting with the country manager) to understand what the needs of the organization are and to act proactively according to the needs

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physician in good-standing with a current, active and unrestricted License by Luxembourg or Germany or Belgium Medical Board and by the EU

  • At least 10 years experience as a Physician and preferably at least 10 years’ experience as a Specialist in Occupational Medicine in an industrial plant setting

  • Preferably certification in Occupational Medicine

  • Certified Medical Review Offer, equivalent training, or at least 5 years’ experience as a practicing MRO with at least 30 lab positive cases per year

  • Knowledge of computer applications of comprehensive occupational medicine tracking systems, Microsoft Office and entry into the electronic medical record system

  • Experience and ability to manage and respond to emergency care situations

Skills required:

  • Able to recognize when need for consultation with the RMD , CMO, SHE or HR when necessary

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment with a diverse workforce, connecting with all levels in an organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Business fluency in English, French and German; Luxemburgish, and / or Dutch is an added value
