Production Specialist (Job Number: 201615W-01)


Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ has an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist to join our Chatham Production site. The successful candidate will monitor and operate equipment/facilities, insuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Maintains safety standards always and initiates/follows emergency procedures when necessary. Rotates through various roles within the area, including, in some cases, a control room rotation.

Position duties will include:

  • seed plant receiving,maintenance, conditioning, packaging, warehousing, returns/rework, andshipping, as directed by supervisor

  • Coordinate plant activities andsupervise staff to achieve production targets

  • Assist with daily schedulingand organizing of plant operations

  • Develop and maintain goodcommunication with plant personnel to impact product quality and plantproductivity

  • Actively participate inincorporating the DPS productivity program and provide accurate and timelyinformation

  • Participate in team meetingsand lead areas of assigned responsibility. Report and chart plantperformance data

  • Conditioning activities such ascleaner operation, spirals, gravity operation, forklift operation,treating, bagging, palletizing, sampling and equipment clean down

  • Shipping/receiving, interplantmovement, warehousing, and inventory management of bulk and bagged seed

  • Compliance with ISO WorkInstructions and Safety requirements

  • Assist with creating andmodifying Safety and ISO procedures

  • Complete and maintainappropriate records, documents, or reports quality and inventory records

  • Some general repair andmaintenance activities

  • Overtime hours includingweekend work required during seasonal peaks


To be qualified for thisrole, you must possess the following:

  • 2-Year Degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge of productionagriculture

  • 2-3 years’ supervisoryexperience

  • Valid Class G driver’s licenserequired

  • Ability to obtain Class Alicense

  • Ability to adjust quickly tochanging conditions and anticipate needs

  • Able to operate plant equipment

  • Good verbal and interpersonalcommunication skills

  • Ability to participate inmeetings

  • Ability to providetraining and supervise/coach others

  • Intermediate level of PC skillsdesired

  • Willingness to work in avariety of areas (field, plant, warehouse)

  • Ability to climb and/or work inelevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods

  • Position involves repetitivemotion and/or repetitive lifting up to 60 lbs

  • Willingness to work bothoutdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions

  • Overtime hours includingweekend work required during seasonal peaks
