Position Overview:

The Operations Process Leader is responsible for leading the maximization of the capability within operations teams, specifically First Line Leaders, Technical Advisors and Operators, by improving, developing and implementing structure and tools to drive implementation, alignment, and excellent execution of manufacturing operations processes.

  • Develop and Implement Standard Work

  • Work closely with OpEx Leader and Area Leaders to develop and document standard work

  • Ensure complete understanding, integration and consistent execution of standard work within operations

  • Embed tracking mechanism for performance of standard work in areas and respond to gaps in execution

  • Develop Learning and Development Structure and Tools

  • Develop and implement skills matrices

  • Implement and oversee process to update and maintain skills matrices

  • Improve, develop and enhance technical training programs

  • Ensures full understanding of DuPont Standards, Process Safety Management (PSM) standards, Environmental regulations, OSHA regulations and area/site EH&S policies is embedded in the Area and reinforced using appropriate tools and processes

  • Implement and oversee process to update and maintain training programs

  • Develop, implement and maintain a robust skills verification process and ensures necessary rigor

  • Leads process to assess and close learning and development gaps

  • Identify capability barriers to meeting or exceeding production performance targets, solving to root cause and implementing solutions or mitigating measures that remove barriers

  • Embeds capability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve equipment and/or process issues

  • Lead implementation of future state strategic direction for Operations,

  • Full build-out and implementation of Operator Skills Paths model

  • Workflow models and scenario development

  • Development of detailed skills, knowledge and pre-requisite requirements by role

  • Ensures capability, knowledge and skills are present for full integration of OpEx tools in daily work (standard and non-standard)

  • Develop, track and report out operations capability metrics and respond to gaps and deviations

  • Enhances and brings value to huddles and escalation meetings by communicating and report out on appropriate capability metrics and leading execution of action items related to process excellence capability

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve results

  • Regular interface with and understanding of how cross functional processes, policies and procedures should be integrated into area operational processes and training

  • Actively participating or leading cross-functional processes as appropriate, e.g. root cause analyses, incident investigations, …..

  • Supports improvement initiatives through leadership and shop floor engagement

  • Leadership

  • Role models DuPont’s core values and inspires others

  • Serves as primary back-up to the Operations Leader

  • Fosters a respectful and ethical work environment

  • Coaches and cultivates an atmosphere of learning and development

  • Works closely with training coordinators and act as functional leader

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors:

  • Excellent communication and organization skills and a bias for action

  • Ability to interface and collaborate effectively with other work processes and functions

  • Strong ability to lead by influence as demonstrated in previous areas of responsibility

  • Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements and experience working with a represented workforce

  • Knowledge and experience using Lean Six Sigma methodologies

  • Demonstrated personal behavior that models accountability for maintaining DuPont Core Values

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills needed to coach and develop others

  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment around operational discipline

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Science, or Information Technologies

  • 7+ years of industrial/manufacturing plant experience

  • Extensive demonstrated equipment and process knowledge within area of responsibility

  • 2+ years experience with training and development

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in areas of:

  • Process Safety Management, including High Hazard Processes

  • Safety systems including safety improvement processes, audits and developing safe behaviors

  • DuPont and Spruance policies and procedures, including EHS, Operations and HR
