Production Engineer (Job Number: 199316W-01)
The Kevlar® Polymer plant is looking for a Production Engineer for the Richmond, Virginia Spruance site. Kevlar® is a heat-resistant material that protects people and processes in a wide range of applications around the world.

Understanding Current Capacity:
Define current capability of production area and Key Performance Indicators
Communicate current capability to business line based on the production plan and equipment status
Identify constraints and possible paths to alleviate
Participate in plans to improve current capability
Works to balance in-process Inventories, Production Capability and Costs
Develop and Implement Daily Plan for Operations:
Convert business plan into daily operating plan
Optimize use of inventory and production plan
Work with other ABT (Area Business Team) roles to ensure operating plan and reliability issues are coordinated.
Challenges Schedule breaks, ensures product wheel and works with the Operations Maintenance Gatekeeper to ensure maintenance outage periods are optimized and frozen
Utilizes actual production versus plan for utilization, availability and yield in order to optimize daily operations capability
Liaison to Business and Supply Chain Planners:
Communicate current production capabilities to business line and supply chain planners
Works with Supply Chain and Production Planning in order to optimize schedule
Receive production requirements from business line
Networks with other engineers and site with the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations.
Daily Support to Production Area:
Assist Operators in resolution of gaps between current production versus plan. Provides leadership and direction in the day to day decision making for the operating area of responsibility.
Promotion of proactive equipment problem identification
Understands process capability and technology. Works with area specialist and plant personnel to optimize operations to meet business plans and plant goals.
Minimum of 1-2 years of manufacturing experience
Experience working in a High Hazard area
Experience with MOCs and PHAs
Experience in Kevlar®
Experience working with polymers
Experience in Supply Chain
Six Sigma Black or Green Belt Certification
