Laboratory Technician (Job Number: 196944W-01)

Description

ROLES:

  • Supports Quality and Laboratory functions to achieve its goals.

  • Maintain inventory of chemicals in the lab and replenish as needed.

  • Maintains calibrations of all laboratory equipment.

  • Liaise with vendors for chemicals and equipment maintenance.

  • Maintains lab records, retention samples and controls samples asper guide and site requirments.

RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Routine check and Control sample (To complete daiily routine checkand control sample testing according to the list, Update control sampleresult in S drive, Prepare and print out check list form when necessary)

  • Update and Maintain Laboratory E-Log Book (Update Day lab techE-Logbook, Maintain and verify both day tech and shift techE-Logbook, Update Log book verification list (hardcopy), Prepare and printout verification list when necessary

  • Lab inventory ( Conduct Inventory Check, Update soft copy inventorychecklist, Print out the updated checlist and file into inventoryfolder, Look out for the minimum stock requirement. Purchase lack of stockitems)

  • Purchasing ( Request for quotation. (May request for severalquotations from different vendor to do comparison), Raise PR andwait for PO )

  • Receiving ( Write down the date of receiving on the items(Box/Bottle), Update ITEM TO BUY LIST, Scan and save a soft copy of DOinto folder after receiving the items then, fIle the hard copy DO, Whenreceive chemical, ensure the SDS and COA are provided. COA needs to beverified.)

  • Calibration Internal ( Prepare calibration schedule, Updatecalibration masterlist, Send out calibration schedule reminder to the teamevery month end, Verify all the calibrations.)

  • Calibration External ( Request quotation from respective vendor,Arrange collection of instrument for external calibration, When theinstrument is back from external calibration, the calibration report andcertificate need to be verified.)

  • GLU & GRR ( Schedule for GRR after GLU schedule is beingnotified by quality team, Prepare GLU and GRR sample, Compile the datacollected by shift techs, Ensure the data collection is complete beforedue date, Submit data to quality team, Work with quality team if the datais out of spec )

  • Liaise With Vendors ( Contact vendor when instrument having issue)

  • Lab Cost review (Update lab expense throughout the year in the lasttab of Buy List)

  • Check For Radiation Source ( Conduct 3 monthly check of radiationsource for EDX )

  • Support Shift Lab Tech ( Support plant asample analysis when shifttech is scheduled to do calibration/ reagent preparation, Disposeretention sample according to schedule )

  • Housekeeping In The Lab ( a. Maintain the tidiness and cleanlinessin Lab, Ensure all the cabinet is being label properly and all the labinventory is being stored in the right place )

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

  • Diploma or Nitec in Applied Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Technology.

  • Preferably one year of work experience in chemical or oil & gas industry

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and strong team player.
