Kalrez® Perfluoroelastomer Parts (FFKM) are engineered to meet stringent requirements for high temperature stability, chemical resistance and extensive seal life. These parts and shapes are manufactured from the highest quality standards and provide one of the longest, most predictable lifespans in industry with global markets that include aerospace, chemical processing, life sciences, semiconductor processing and several others.

The Kalrez® business within Industrial Polymers, E&I, is looking for a customer-focused, highly motivated Technical Service & Development (TS&D) Engineer to drive growth at strategic customer accounts within the semiconductor market. This position works in concert with commercial teams, marketing, custom parts and operations to lead the technical and customer-facing aspects of new product and application developments.

The location for this position is on the West Coast of the US and will require routine coordination and execution with Kalrez® TS&D, operations, testing labs, quality, engineering, R&D, commercial and marketing located in Newark, DE and regular connects with the DuPont Silicon Valley Technology Center.

Your Key Responsibilities :

  • Adhere to and respect Core Values for self and others

  • Provide Technical Support (product and part design* recommendations, material properties) to:

  • assigned customers and/or distributors in the region and across the Semiconductor market segment

  • Sales / Account Management team for existing and new applications/customers

  • Operations, quality, and complaint handling process

  • Be the Technical focal point within defined account teams, supporting and contributing to the account growth plan.

  • Perform part performance analysis, determine root cause of part failure and define corrective actions and follow-up to completion

  • Conduct training seminars for distributors and customers

  • Lead/support technical programs at customers and distributors to achieve technical qualification for future commercialization

  • Lead/coordinate product evaluations, data generation programs, laboratory designed functional testing

  • Continuously develop expertise in end-use applications, to best support our customers

  • Prepare/contribute to product literature, sales tools and case stories for new and existing products

  • Write and publish technical papers/articles for selected conferences and tradeshows

  • Provide input to business and marketing strategy for Semiconductor segment

  • Continuously apply innovative approaches to customer solutions and processes

  • Compile, document, and communicate value-in-use information, competitive intelligence and related items to continuously improve our competitive advantage

  • Provide Technical Support to global and regional programs within the COE (Centers of Excellence) as applies

  • Lead and/or contribute to NPCF programs, providing VOC (Voice Of the Customer), technical expertise, etc… as needed to develop new products and/or applications to meet customer needs, if applies

  • Plays a central role in the commercialization process in translating customer requirements (e.g. part dimensions, tolerances, critical characteristics, material specification) to the business for accurate part drawings, quotes and timely delivery of new part orders

Your Qualification Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent

  • 5 years of work experience in a similar role is preferred

  • Proven ability to work in teams and network across different business functions to drive programs (product group, engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, sales, marketing, etc.)

  • Demonstrates initiative, drive and ability to follow through on complex tasks and timelines

  • Excellent personal interaction skills and ability to work as a team member with a diverse group of people in R&D, engineering, commercial, marketing and manufacturing

  • Ability to connect with customers and build lasting relationships

  • Demonstrated excellence in communicating technical information to a broad audience

  • Can organize projects into clear activities, milestones, & timing

  • Ability to translate application requirements into application test methods and material selection / recommendation

  • Experience with elastomers, fluoroelastomers and perfluoroelastomers

  • Knowledge and expertise in seal designs, bonding, mechanical attachment methods and failure analysis

  • Up to 25% travel may be required

The Pay range for this role is $94,920.00 - $149,160.00 Annual

How Base Pay is Determined: DuPont has job leveling frameworks that help organize roles based on progressive levels of responsibility, proficiency and qualifications. Each role has an associated pay range (or an established pay rate for some roles) based on the competitive market in each country where we operate. Each individual’s pay is based on a variety of factors, including their role and the associated pay range for that role, their geographic location (i.e., country, state, metropolitan area), as well as their skills, experience, education and certifications, and performance.
