Global accountability for the Indirect organization that has responsibility for the development, execution and buy strategy for all categories of spend in support of Corporate Functions and our Information Technologies Services and solutions in support of the Agricultural Division of DowDupont. Total spend will be approximately $1.8B annually.

The successful candidate must have deep knowledge in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management along with an understanding of negotiation and contracting. In addition, deep knowledge of IT procurement (hardware, software, services…) and program management including basic understanding of SAS and large IT suppliers. In addition the candidate should be proficient in procurement “should-cost” cost modelling and contract law.

Main Roles

  • Global accountability for Indirect Sourcing team and strategy.

  • Engage with Businesses and Functions to develop strategies that deliver savings and growth that are aligned with Business & Functional objectives.

  • Drive execution of Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Client Partnerships for all categories within Corporate Services and IT (HR, consulting, contingent labor, professional services, travel, fleet, hardware, software, telecom, etc.).

  • Develop competencies that understand competitive landscape and industry trends.

  • Drive process and policy simplification, governance and compliance.

  • Build strong team that is engaged and business focused to deliver on overall objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Global accountability for buy strategy, execution of the buy, strategic market perspective competitiveness for all in scope spend. Develops and leads a global team of category managers who are accountable for commodity groups and suppliers supporting Corporate Functions and IT.

  • Manages, develops and leads all buyers, senior buyers and executive buyers negotiating and executing contracts for commodities within role (Accountable for spend of +$1.8 B).

  • Responsible for sponsorship for category leaders who develop, execute and renew global commodity sourcing strategies that maximize leverage and savings.

  • Develops and drives performance metrics for buy and delivers results through the expertise and leverage of buyer organization.

  • Champions, coaches the team and is a continuous learner on the use of standard sourcing processes, category management, engaging low cost country suppliers, risk mitigation and supplier Performance Management.

  • Participates as full partner on the business, operations and functional leadership teams to fully engage and understand the business strategy and to bring the external market place dynamics into the strategy and planning process.

  • Working with the buying team, fully evaluates the external market and develops strategies to mitigate risk and create competitive advantage versus our competition.

  • Sets high standards for the organization for ethics, professionalism and drive compliance to all internal controls.

  • Manages all B/RRP, internal controls and contract-related aspects of the outsourced and BPO services.

  • Develops relationships with senior executives from key suppliers and engages them in strategic supplier management for value creation and innovation.

  • Works with operations and functions to identify, assess, qualify and develop new suppliers needed for competition and value delivery.

  • Is a key part of Functional Strategies and develops overall IT procurement processes and deploys resources to engage suppliers and minimize total cost of the projects.

  • Manages bench-marking projects.

  • Develops target development plans for all direct reports.

  • Accountable for annual delivery of savings and working capital targets as required by the business and supply chain to achieve competitiveness.

  • Manages a rigorous performance management processes with all buyers, senior buyer and executive buyers.

  • Develops organization expertise recognized as "world class" both internally and externally. Work collaboratively with other sourcing colleagues to share best practices and procurement process improvements.


Education background

  • Bachelor degree required, Master's degree preferred, ideally major in business, supply management or chemical engineering.

Experience and Attributes

  • Minimum of 10+ years of managerial and leadership experience.

  • 5 years + experience leading a global team.

  • Preferred indirect buy experience.

  • Commercial/business experience and expertise.

  • Strong understanding of Sourcing Process, market analysis and business value creation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of legal contracts.

  • Procurement or sourcing experience.

  • Project management experience.

  • Broad range of roles and experiences across functions and businesses including business operations and supply chain.

  • Green belt or black belt certified preferred.
