Seeking a new and challenging opportunity to further enhance your career? The Clean Technologies business has a development opportunity for a Senior Associate R&D Engineer – Refining. The Senior Associate R&D Engineer will report to the R&D Manager. The individual with work in a team with scientists and engineers in applying research and development and commercial data to further enhance and support the refining business in DuPont Clean Technologies: IsoTherming® hydroprocessing, STRATCO® alkylation, BELCO® scrubbing and MECS® sulfuric acid technologies.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Member of a multidisciplinary team focused on planning, leading and analyzing data for pilot plan runs for the support of the IsoTherming® Hydroprocessing Technology and related areas in the Clean Technologies R&D team.

  • Develop and implement new reactor modeling capabilities in support of the growing application of the IsoTherming® Technology and related areas in the Clean Technology R&D Group.

  • Support in the operation and quality assurance of analytical tests for supporting the Clean Technologies R&D - Refining pilot units.

  • Support Process Safety Management requirements associated with Process Hazards Analysis, Management of Change (MOC), Safety Reviews and Safety Audits.For example, initiate the required safety reviews, prepare standard operating conditions and operating procedures, and coordinate the training of operating personnel.

  • Provide technical support to the operation of the small-scale units.

  • As needed, provide technical support to existing customer manufacturing sites and business teams such as Licensing, Technical Service and Engineering.

Qualifications

The following are required:

  • BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related field.

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in process development and/or R&D.

  • Oil and gas industry experience.

  • Mathematical modeling experience in specific in MatLab or similar software.

  • Process Modeling experience in Aspen HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving/troubleshooting and data analysis skills.

  • Demonstrated skills in multitasking and planning/organizing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience with Highly Toxic Materials (HTMs) and/or Highly Hazardous Processes (HHPs).

  • Heterogeneous catalysis background.

  • Experience in hydroprocessing.

  • Experience in batch distillation process.

  • Experience with Rockwell PLC systems.

  • Knowledge of analytical techniques as XRF, GC/FID, HPLC, Chemiluminescence, physical properties.

  • Experience on capital project teams and/or manufacturing operations.

  • Training in Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt).

Additional Information:

The person must have right to work in the U.S. with no Visa restrictions.

Travel may be required to support project work. (up to 25%).
