Senior Buyer - Warehousing (Job Number: 200034W-01)
The position is responsible for supporting DuPont Business Units in North America with the procurement of high quality, timely, and cost-effective warehousing services for the safe storage and distribution of products. Works with procurement team, Business Units, Logistics Optimization Managers and Business Functions to determine appropriate sourcing strategies and recommend qualified 3PLs/suppliers (3 rd Party Logistics Providers). Ensures suppliers comply with government regulatory requirements, DuPont safety standards and highest ethical standards. Works with team to develop and execute strategies to ensure maximum leverage of buy.
The position must develop a working knowledge of the warehousing industry nationally to ensure North American Logistics goals and service objectives are achieved. It requires a working knowledge of supply chain operations and more specifically the process flow and equipment of warehousing services (i.e, order to ship and inbound to outbound). The position must ensure safe handling and storage of DuPont product per the scope of work.
The position works with a team to execute warehousing strategies, best practices and process improvements all the while abiding by all corporate policies and procedures. The position will initiate, develop and lead the bid process to secure services based on changing or new service requirements while collaborating with Business Units and Functions (i.e. Real Estate, Legal, etc.) to ensure the highest quality service available. The position must have a good intermediate understanding of contract law so as to be able to negotiate pricing, liability, indemnity, insurance, etc. as well as other terms and conditions of procurement agreements. The position will then write/develop competitive contracts with aggressive terms and conditions related to cost, early terminations and payment terms that provide maximum protection for DuPont.
The position aggressively works on establishing new ways to reduce and/or eliminate unnecessary costs in the supply chain by influencing suppliers to improve their warehousing methods and processes thereby driving out cost with no negative impact on productivity. The position will also monitor supplier evaluations to ensure optimal satisfaction by the client. It acts as the go-between for Business Unit and the 3PL for all contractual matters which may involve resolving daily operational issues.

BA/BS degree with preferred focus in Supply Chain or Operations Management, and work experience in contracts and procurement.
Strong knowledge/capability in logistics, procurement strategies and negotiation skills.

Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)Minimal travel is required. Certified Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.
